Justice Marsha Slough today announced she will retire Aug. 31, capping two decades of service as a judicial officer and nearly a decade as a Judicial Council member and leading voice on key judicial branch initiatives.

“This year’s budget represents a continued commitment by Governor Newsom and the Legislature to support the judicial branch with a sustainable budget, which is a cornerstone of our ability to provide access to justice for all Californians," said Chief Justice Guerrero.

Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero delivered her first State of the Judiciary Address to the California Legislature on March 27, 2023.

Deadline for public comment is March 23.

"I appreciate Governor Newsom’s continued support in his budget proposal for the critical programs and services provided by the judicial branch to advance access to justice for all Californians," Chief Justice Guerrero said.​

Brandon L. Henson was appointed as clerk/executive officer of the Fourth District Court of Appeal starting April 1.

Hoshino will retire on Dec. 31 after eight years leading the council's staff organization.

SACRAMENTO—Acting Administrative Presiding Justice Ronald Robie today announced the appointment of Colette Bruggman as clerk/executive officer of the Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District, effective Jan. 1, 2023.

Bruggman, currently the court’s assistant clerk/executive officer, will succeed Andrea Wallin-Rohmann, who will retire after serving in the position for more than six years.

Technology projects include advancing the use of online and remote tools.
