    A Department of Motor Vehicles hearing officer did not assume the proscribed role of an “advocate” by introducing and admitting into evidence a sworn and an unsworn arrest report at a hearing to determine if a motorist would suffer a one-year driver’s license suspension for refusing to submit to a chemical test to determine if he was intoxicated while operating his vehicle, Div. One of the Fourth District Court of Appeal determined yesterday.

  • Executives Can Be Held Personally Liable in Suit Over Company’s False Tax Returns—C.A.

    Top-level executives of a technology company were properly held personally liable, in a civil action by an individual, for filing false financial returns, Div. Three of the Fourth District Court of Appeal has held, rejecting their contention that only the company was the “filer” and it therefore solely bore responsibility for fraudulent representations as to the nature of a pay-off pursuant to a settlement agreement.

  • Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan charged with 2 felonies in ICE case

    Brady McCarron, spokesman for U.S. Marshals Service in Washington, D.C., said Dugan is being charged with two federal felony counts: obstruction and concealing an individual. McCarron also confirmed Dugan was arrested at about 8 a.m. at the Milwaukee County Courthouse.
