• Rosenberg announces Yolo Superior Court retirement

    Yolo Superior Court Judge David Rosenberg announced Monday he plans to retire at the end of this year after serving two decades on the bench. The former Davis mayor and Yolo County supervisor said he’s been eligible to retire since 2016, but decided now is the right time to take the plunge.

  • California voters will now choose ‘keep the law’ or ‘overturn the law’ when voting on referendums

    Under AB421, signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Sunday, when a referendum challenging a proposed state law appears on the ballot, voters will be told they have two choices: “Keep the law” or “Overturn the law.” The ballot will describe the challenged law and its purposes, and the ballot pamphlet distributed to voters will list the top financial contributors to the referendum.

  • Judicial Council draws 100 to courthouse presentation

    Approximately 100 people attended an Oct. 4 presentation by the Judicial Council of California outlining the process for selecting a new courthouse site in Plumas County. Most were drawn there by the possibility of constructing a 54,000-square-foot building on Dame Shirley Plaza.
