California courthouses this November will be filled with balloons, stuffed animals, and most importantly, new families in celebration of Court Adoption and Permanency Month. The annual event is celebrated nationally on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, and some counties coordinate similar events throughout the year.
(Subscription required) The forum on Nov. 16 will bring together legal experts, judges, and community leaders to discuss the challenges facing the legal profession and the judiciary today and to develop solutions to address these challenges.
(Subscription required) The official launch of the CARE Court in California was Oct. 3, in seven counties. Those courts reported few hiccups. LA County officials hope for a similarly smooth rollout.
