• Children’s waiting room reopens at South County Courthouse

    The Santa Clara County Superior Court, in partnership with Catalyst Community, this week announced the grand reopening of the children’s waiting room at the Morgan Hill Courthouse, 301 Diana Ave. The enhanced facility reopened to the public on July 14.

  • Orange County Takes Different Approach to Treat Mental Illness Through CARE Courts

    The law, which went into effect statewide last December, empowers judges to mandate that a person with mounting mental health problems undergo treatment, whether the person consents or not. Orange County is taking a different approach, however–with something called “relentless outreach” in getting mental health treatment to those that need it the most.

  • California court system to decide on AI rule

    The Judicial Council of California on Friday will consider the AI proposal. If adopted, California would become the largest state court system with an AI rule or policy. The California proposal, developed by an artificial intelligence task force established by Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero in 2024, calls for all California courts that allow generative AI in court-related work to either adopt the model AI policy released by the task force in February or modify the model policy to address their specific goals by September.
