Friday was the first California Supreme Court oral argument session with Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero presiding and Justice Kelli Evans participating in oral argument.
It was a hybrid oral argument session, with Chief Justice Guerrero joining remotely from Sacramento, where she swore in Gov. Gavin Newsom to his second term in office. Justices Joshua Groban and Martin Jenkins also joined remotely.
Both Chief Justice Guerrero and Justice Evans were sworn into office Jan. 2 by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
