May Budget Revise Statement from Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye

California Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye today released the following statement on the Governor's revised budget proposal for the judicial branch:

The Governor’s revision to his state budget proposal reflects his deep support for our goal of achieving equal access to justice for all Californians—wherever they live. This proposal would provide judges for those living in communities where there has long been a need. It also supports the important progress we have made in expanding language access in our courts.

I look forward to continuing to work with the Governor and Legislature to ensure our courts are fair and accessible to all.
