The CARE Act: Here’s What to Know
California courts in eight counties have launched the CARE Act, a new pathway to deliver mental health treatment and support services to the most vulnerable Californians.
Courts have been advised to follow guidance provided by the Department of Public Health, and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to limit the spread of the virus. Updates will be communicated through local court websites as appropriate.

Who is eligible for services under the CARE Act?
An estimated 8,000 to 12,000 Californians are estimated to meet CARE Act criteria. To qualify, a person must meet all of seven eligibility criteria:
