Bill to limit immigration status court disclosure advances

(Subscription required) A state Senate bill seeking to limit disclosures of witnesses' immigration status in court moved closer to becoming law on Tuesday despite probing questions from both sides of the aisle.

(Subscription required) The Senate's 39-0 vote Monday came the same day a bar task force issued a report to legislative committees, the governor and the state Supreme Court that was supportive of many of the bill's provisions, but opposed to shrinking the agency's board by six members.
