Justice Department warns California cities about sanctuary policies

(Subscription required) The U.S. Department of Justice on Wednesday sent letters to 29 jurisdictions nationwide, including 12 cities and counties in California, notifying them that their policies on limiting cooperation with federal immigration authorities may not comply with federal law.

ABA puts Thomas Jefferson law school on probation

(Subscription required) The ABA’s legal education council wrote that its decision, effective as of Monday, stemmed from concerns about the San Diego-based school’s “present and anticipated financial resources, admissions practices, academic program, and bar passage outcomes.”
