Santa Clara Splits Complex Litigation Docket

Santa Clara Superior Court Judge Peter Kirwan, who has presided over some of Silicon Valley's biggest legal battles over the past three years as complex civil litigation judge, has been reassigned as part of a regular reshuffle, according to a court spokesman.

If you’re arrested in Ramsey County, Minn., you pay a fee for, well, getting arrested. The county, which includes St. Paul and other cities and towns, charges a $25 “booking fee.” The sheriff’s office confiscates the fee and any other cash you’re carrying up front.
