Supreme Court makes appointments to State Bar Board of Trustees

SAN FRANCISCO—The Supreme Court of California announced the reappointment of Attorney Jason P. Lee and the appointment of Deputy District Attorney Brandon N. Stallings to four-year terms on the State Bar Board of Trustees. The court also appointed Mr. Lee as chair and Attorney Alan Steinbrecher as vice chair of the Board of Trustees for one year terms.

SAN FRANCISCO—The Supreme Court of California announced the reappointment of Attorney Jason P. Lee and the appointment of Deputy District Attorney Brandon N. Stallings to four-year terms on the State Bar Board of Trustees. The court also appointed Mr. Lee as chair and Attorney Alan Steinbrecher as vice chair of the Board of Trustees for one year terms.

Appointed to the Board of Trustees: For a four year term from September 14, 2018 through the conclusion of the annual meeting of the State Bar in 2022.

Appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees: For a one year term from September 14, 2018 through the conclusion of the annual meeting of the State Bar in 2019.

Jason Lee is Chief Compliance Officer at Lido Advisors, LLC, responsible for developing and administering the firm’s Compliance Program. He has over 20 years of white collar and securities-related litigation, regulatory, and compliance experience in both government and private practice. Mr. Lee has worked to protect investors through his 13 years with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). At the SEC's Division of Enforcement, he pursued investment adviser and broker dealer misconduct, financial fraud, insider trading, and market manipulation. He has a BA, Economics, University of California Los Angeles, 1994, JD, Santa Clara School of Law, 1997, LL.M., Georgetown University Law Center, 1999.

Appointed to the Board of Trustees: For a four year term from September 14, 2018 through the conclusion of the annual meeting of the State Bar in 2022.

Brandon Stallings is a deputy district attorney at the Kern County District Attorney’s Office. He was previously elected to the Board of Trustees representing the Central Valley. Mr. Stallings has served on the Kern County Bar Association, including as president of the Young Lawyer Section, member of the Court Liaison Committee, member of the Kern Bar Charitable Foundation and on the Board of Directors. Through his service he has focused on the need to coach, mentor, and train young attorneys to represent the profession in a manner reflecting high ethical standards. He graduated cum laude from the Oak Brook College of Law.

Appointed Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees: For a one year term from September 14, 2018 through the conclusion of the annual meeting of the State Bar in 2019.

Alan Steinbrecher is a current Supreme Court appointee to the Board of Trustees. He is litigator and partner at Steinbrecher & Span, LLP, who specializes in business, product liability, and aviation litigation. Over the course of his 40-year career, Mr. Steinbrecher has been the lead attorney for several federal and state court jury trials. He has also served as president of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and chair of its Litigation Section and Armed Forces Committee. Before pursuing a law career, Mr. Steinbrecher served in the U.S. Navy as a fighter pilot during the Vietnam War, and later retired as a captain from the United States Naval Reserves. He is an alumnus of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University School of Law.
