Supreme Court Attorney Proposes Alternative Bar License Path for Recent Law Grads

Neil Gupta, the principal attorney to Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye, suggested recent law grads be granted a permanent law license if they successfully complete a two-year supervised practice program. Gupta said he was only speaking for himself and not the Supreme Court or chief justice, who would have to approve any such proposal.
