SAN FRANCISCO—Dozens of court interpreters from around the world convened at the Judicial Council on June 5 for the start of a four-day conference on the challenges and solutions in the field of legal interpreting in the United States and Europe.

The conference featured an exhibition on the Nuremberg Trials, which are widely considered to be the birthplace of real-time language interpreting in court.

During the conference, attendees toured the California Supreme Court and participated in sessions on such topics as training interpreters of indigenous languages.
