San Francisco Superior Court admits fault in assigning review judge

(Subscription required) In a letter to California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye obtained by the Daily Journal, the superior court said it improperly stepped into a role reserved for the chief justice and leapfrogged a statutorily required five-day window designed to allow the public defender's and district attorney's offices time to come to an agreement on a review judge.
