New arguments may keep judge recusal law up in the air

(Subscription required) Orange County Superior Court still is refusing the district attorney's requests to move three murder cases away from Judge Thomas M. Goethals, despite the 4th District Court of Appeal's published opinion last summer concluding the district attorney's repeat challenges were lawful under Civil Code of Procedure 170.6.
