What:  A ceremony to celebrate the official dedication of the new San Diego Central Courthouse for the Superior Court of San Diego County. The ceremony is not open to the public, but media are invited. Members of the media wishing to attend the ceremony or tour the courthouse should contact Karen Dalton, Superior Court of San Diego County, 619-450-5353, karen.dalton@sdcourt.ca.gov

Who:  The ceremony will include remarks by: Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye, California Supreme Court and chair of the Judicial Council; San Diego County Presiding Judge Jeffrey Barton and Assistant Presiding Judge Peter Deddeh.

When:  Monday, June 5, 2017, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Where:  San Diego Central Courthouse, 1100 Union Street, San Diego

Why:  The courthouse officially opens for business on July 17. Funded through Senate Bill 1407, the new building will consolidate court operations for central county residents, replacing inadequate and obsolete facilities with a modern, full-service courthouse.
