In his welcoming remarks, Senate President Pro Tempore Kevin de León introduces members of the state Supreme Court.
It is customary for members of the state's highest court to be seated, left to right, in the same order as they do on the Supreme Court bench. The 2017 address touched on topics of concern for all branches of governmnet in California, including barriers to justice and protecting the rule of law. "The rule of law stands strong in California. We must remember our past both good and bad to fight the forces of fear and prejudice" said the Chief Justice. View here.
